Transformational
intervention in
Javed Ahmad’s Life
Overview
Life was going conventionally well for Javed Ahmad from Akhal, Pulwama. With a degree in forestry and a steady government job as a school teacher is a dream for thousands of people in this part of the globe. However, all this could not satisfy his creative conscience and he resigned from his government job in 2015. Born into a family of orchardists, Javed wanted to make the family business sustainable and profitable, in lieu of modern times and demands. Going by what he himself calls “the boldest and wisest decisions” of his life, he uprooted his century-old orchards to experiment with QUL in growing plants that claimed to produce exotic apple varieties in a short span of time All this seemed too good to be true for his traditionally old grandfather, but Javed being an avid patron of developmental intellect harboured the dream of viable farming
Post QUL’s Interventions
QUL put in their efficacious efforts to educate, train and instruct the family to make the shift from the traditional age-old practice to new feasible High-density Orchards. The project came to a successful conclusion, and what seemed like a dream came true in real life.
